When you make a purchase in the SMW shop, a portion of the proceeds go to purchasing diapers for families in need.
What is diaper poverty?
1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers. In fact, many parents have to choose between food and diapers.
Without diapers, parents often resort to things like plastic bags, toilet paper, and paper towels as make-shift diapers. But without proper diapers, babies cannot go to childcare or participate in early childhood education.
Without this much-needed childcare, many parents cannot go to work or school. This causes homes with more tension, less nurturing, and possible abuse.
Not only that, but an uncomfortable baby cries more, which can lead to mistreatment and neglect.
We're partnering with Nashville Diaper Connection to ensure that every baby in Davidson County has enough diapers to stay clean, dry and healthy.
